Patient Education

Safe Rx Mendocino collaborates with local partners to increase community awareness of the risks of opioid misuse.
‍

Patients should talk to their doctors about the medications prescribed to them, especially opioids. They should know why they are prescribed the medicine, any risks involved, the alternatives, proper dosage, and how long they should continue to take it.

If you are prescribed opioids, ask your doctor if a co-prescription of Naloxone (Narcan) is appropriate for you.

Click here for more information about how to get Naloxone (Narcan).
